It was the mapping project set in foundation,the idea is to explore the south of London and found your unique way of document the urban riverside .

While others looking at the urban landscape alongside of the Thames I was looking at the relative location between street blocks,bridges,and the river. Therefore,I typed in a place name - (Waterloo,Lambeth,Great London,UK) on the GoogleMap and use this specific area as my reference. Tracing down certain line,what I focus on is what shapes these lines combine together at the end not the urban details on the map,so I didnt put any street's name or the site's name on theses drawings.

The time when I finished the first 2 drawings without any plans in my head , I found out that each shape is more or less like a part of human body but in a large scale! Some form like chest, some like shoulders or even like many piece of our bones arrangement.

idea: This “Safety deposit box” is an installation that reflect to

1 of my 3 lessons for the Beyond the Boundary project.

I saw..

Trees grow on the wall,on the window frames and even dead on

the pipes on the wall. Words, symbol, dirty are found on the

walls. Signboards, advertisements and flyer notices are put

on the walls outside the buildings.Loss of some fragments of

glass windows.pipes leaning on the walls.

Why..

they are so eager to get out?

Maybe..

because its nearly full inside,lots of families,too

much pressure,too many furnitures...

inspired by..

on of the saying that “because the city has used up all

available space, the only safe within the space is the

safety deposit box.” from one of the chapter of the book

“About Looking” by John Berger in 1980.I decided to do an

exhibition in the safety deposit box and this will be the

3rd lesson of my 3 lessons for this project.

The concept..

The inner space is not longer spacious. Although the only

space that now we can control is our saftey deposit box ,

we still packed our everyday life making money for living.

“We control our time, but in a uncontrollable way.”

“The only thing that we can count on is our live,

but it is the only thing that we possess.”

(I put a bread and a watch in the safety deposit box.

Bread symbolize life / watch symbolize time.

Fresh home hand pocket pita special design for the waterfall launch event on 25.11.2010 The launch is to celebrate the third issue #3 "POCKET" released in Nov ,besides many of the original manuscripts were exhibited exclusive for this launch evening. The Launch went really well ,people enjoy a lot especially we had two performances ,one by ATTA KimetaFace a dual improvise live-performance by Aephie Huimi and Taigen Kawabe (BoNingen) another is theSound Art Performance /LSSP aka Laiser Lamps-Sound-Performance created byChunghan Yao. We has a great time ,looking forward to see the fourth issue before long in the future.

TEST

This is the tests that I did for one project last year. I was trying to put out some still images into live therefore, I choose 2 different materials that looks different on the surface. The outcome went really well , the black n white image stay its appearance but the silver texture surface pull out the image and bring the whole picture to vivid . I was quite satisfied with this experiment !

These are the interesting mistakes that have been made under an unexpected circumstances when I was doing my research. In this special case I think there is no point of arguing "what" is the "right" outcome because their unique and developmental is far beyond what they actual looks like.

Maybe you would say "Then,they are just like a fail images couldn't be used for serious purpose." But I wanted to say is that if everything are set as we think is perfect then there won't be different and fun that nourish our ideas. World will be boring.

lesson 1: body

I walk out of my flat then take a bus (of no-idea-of-where-it-head-to) away from the central city and put myself into an unfimiliar space,using the same pair of eyes but redefinate the view in my brains.Expirence the pace of life,talking with people on the street make myself more like a tourist here.

I sit on your favorite rocking chair in the Sunday afternoon reading my favorite traval magazine about Egype.I closed my eyes imagzine I’m just in the most ancient pyramid of pharaoh looking at the coffin which had been cursed.Suddenly,my mom phone me on the skype from Taiwan,then the next second I’m sitting infront of the screen talking to my mom (who is on the other side of the world). Thanks to the global internet service.

I met an old friend in London recentely,a friend who is married to a japanese guy for over 2 years.we had dinner at a shushi bar last night. I was very surprised that she is not only dress up like a japanese,talks like a japanese but also behave like a japanese !! How impressive that japanese culture could influence her so deeply for just shortly over 2 years.

Beyond the project is the last project be set before the Christmas . These sketches are made after the trip , visiting ,film watching and the reading . Every sketch shows how I came out the ideas and how these ideas developed during the past one week . On the 8th of Dec we are going to exhibit 1 of 3 our work at The Other Place in Camberwell , Im thinking of creating an installation for this exhibit on Wed and now Im still working on my installation. Hope everything will all-right x

then what kind of bio and some we have not seen it?

I read news / almost everyday / not because I need something to company with my breakfast /sometimes I come out ideas from ridiculous international news /or get inspired by the special aspect as a press/ Today I read the news on yahoo / National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced on the 2nd of arsenic alone will be able to live one kind of special bacteria that may rewrite the iron constituent element of life/ also shows that somewhere in the universe/ even on earth/ may have never thought of human biology by means survival/I was interested in this issue / the news not only show how amazing the nature is /but also indicated how ignorant human are / Then I made this news layout inspired by the theory of the nature power in our vastness universe /

11.28.2010 Sunday

a journey start from central London toward the East London.

13:10 we got on the DLR from Bank station and took off at the "King George V" overground station at 13:30 . I remember it was a sunny but frizzing afternoon , almost the first cold day of this winter. Although we had our boots and scarf on but still ,the cold air attacked through our jumper sneak into our bone.

Maybe is because of the weather , the scenes seems to appear in a great grey-blue scale. Not many people on the street , only a middle age man with a grocery blue bag and a young mother stood beside a red buggy waiting for the bus at the bus stop.

Dolly , little book

This is a little hand book that belongs to my previous project "Everything is connected"which explains about the "World's press knit the sheep" theory.This little hand book contains several short texts and illustrate by some hand-drawing on each pages.At the moment its still in progress...
